The International Convention Centre, Birmingham, Thursday 19 – Friday 20 November 2009
Fresh, creative, innovative and celebratory – these are just a handful of words that describe the 1st National Personality Disorder Congress.
The two-day programme, designed with service users and carers in mind and with their needs and interests very much at its heart, will share innovative approaches and successful responses to the day-to-day challenges of working with personality disorder in mainstream mental health, criminal justice, third sector and social service settings. The presentations and workshops have been created to inform and stimulate by being fresh and lively and aim to offer new ways of looking at issues and challenges in the field.
Integral to the programme is an exciting and powerful series of arts and activity workshops and displays aimed at challenging stigma through celebrating creative achievement. These workshops and displays will show how creative expression can lead to dynamic and inclusive routes to recovery and self fulfilment.
The 1st National Congress will bring together service users, carers, providers, commissioners and policy makers across criminal justice, health and social care agencies as well as the third sector to continue to inform developments in the personality disorder field.
Numbers are restricted to 250 delegates – so it is important to register by 16th October . After this date we will confirm whether your request to attend has been successful and will be in contact where applicable, to arrange payment. Please note this is a two-day event and priority will be given to those who are able to attend both days.
This is a fee paying Congress. However, service users and carers can attend for free. Under certain circumstances, bursaries will be available, funded by a relevant host organisation, for travel and accommodation.
The fee for this two-day event is £160.00 + VAT; the fee for the voluntary sector is £120.00 + VAT.
