The First National PD Congress will be held on Thursday 19 – Friday 20 November 2009 at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham. The Congress will bring together service users, clinicians, commissioners, policy makers and managers from community and forensic services and networks for two days of educational, thought-provoking, artistic and inspirational activity.
From April 2009, statutory access to an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) will be available to patients subject to certain aspects of the Mental Health Act 1983.
This annual publication summarises information about people detained under the 1983 Mental Health Act in NHS facilities, including high security psychiatric hospitals, and independent hospitals.
The Department of Health has updated their key documents and added a new Frequently Asked Questions section to their website to help people find out more about the Mental Health Act 2007.
