Emergence launches its first ever national fundraising month in October

While mental health is the focus of one day in October (10th), Emergence has chosen the remaining 30 to create awareness of personality disorder and raise much needed funds to continue to educate and fight the stigma associated with this poorly understood mental health condition.

The Emergence Fundraising Month, called Open the Parachute, will include four activities – a staged reading of Sharon Pollock’s ‘Blood Relations’ by the Resurgence Theatre Company on October 13 and two fundraising concerts (Open the Parachute) on October 9 and 23 as well as a film screening of Tony Gammidge’s work.

Kath Lovell, Emergence managing director, said: “I am thrilled with the programme of events we have planned for our first ever dedicated fundraising month. October is a perfect time to highlight the issues surrounding personality disorder and specifically our Emergence Pledge which was launched in June this year. As part of the Pledge we are asking as many people as possible to support us to ‘Change Attitudes and Build Lives’ for all those affected by personality disorder.”
