Personality disorder programme No longer a diagnosis of exclusion

“Back from the Edge” is a 48-minute documentary film produced by the Peabody Award-winning Lichtenstein Creative Media. The documentary can be found on the Emergence Facebook page.
The documentary claims to be the first to feature people who have recovered from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), along with five experts in the field : Wayne Fenton, John Gunderson, Perry Hoffman, Otto Kernberg and Marsha Linehan. The video features Kiera Van Gelder, whose new book, ‘The Buddha and the Borderline’ will be published in July 2010 by New Harbinger Publications.
In the new book, Kiera Van Gelder chronicles her struggles and eventual recovery from BPD after 20 years. She offers an intimate look into her arduous struggle to gain control over her emotions and reclaim her life through dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and Buddhism.
